Jackie
Hi I'm Jackie, the face behind fun and fab gift basket ideas.

Welcome!

I made this website so I could share my ideas and my knowledge and show everyone how EASY it is to create gorgeous gift baskets for just about anyone and any occasion!

I hope you enjoy what you find here and come back and visit often!

This is the beautiful city where I live. Auckland, City of Sails, New Zealand.

Auckland is the home of the Sky Tower, famous for dare-devil bungee jumpers. (No, I'm not one of them!)

In 2011 New Zealand is very proud to be hosting the Rugby World Cup. My home is actually very close to Eden Park (the stadium where most of the games will be played).

UPDATE We won!!

In the nail-biting final game of the Rugby World Cup tournament the New Zealand All Blacks defeated the French by 8 points to 7. It is the first time the All Blacks have won the Rugby World Cup since 1987.

On the day after the tournament we joined an estimated crowd of 240,000 adoring Kiwi fans to share the All Blacks victory in a special celebration parade along Auckland city's main streets.

What an awesome experience, I don't think I've ever felt so happy and so damn proud to be a KIWI :)

A bit about life's experiences.....

Like many other young kiwis I headed off to do my big OE (overseas experience) at the very young age of 19. Stopping first in Sydney, Australia for 1 year and then on to London for another 2 1/2 years. eiffel tower

I've traveled around Europe on a bus with a bunch of other adventure seeking 18-30 year olds visiting 15 different countries in ONLY nine weeks!

I've climbed the magnificent Eiffel tower, gazed at the extraordinary Mona Lisa, been blown away by the ancient ruins in Rome, had a fabulous gondola ride in Venice and even shaken my booty :) until the wee small hours at the most AMAZING three level outdoor disco on the Greek Islands!

I've been to the awesome Edinburgh Castle in Scotland, tried to understand the local dialect in Wales, been sunburned on the beach in Waikiki (ouch!) and been both exhausted and amazed by the UNBELIEVABLE delights that both Disneyland and Universal Studios have to offer.

BUT...... even after the excitement of traveling, and being able to see and experience just some of the wonderful places that this incredible world has to offer, I chose to return to New Zealand.

Auckland is the place where I was born and will always call HOME :)

Dreams really do come true......except not always how you imagined.

At the not so young age of 40 I fulfilled a lifelong dream and finally became a mother. I gave birth to my first and only child Zach, who came with his own set of complications and a whole set of new rules...

Born with a rare craniofacial syndrome that affected the growth and development of the right side of his face, he has endured many many long and painful reconstructive surgical procedures.

He is a wonderful child and the light of my life. He has bought me so much joy and so much heartache and has made me a much better person for the experience :)

A bit about my working background....

I think my passion for all things gifty has been with me most of my life and I’ve been involved in the gift industry in some way for over 25 years now.

I've worked in many pharmacies all over the world. I've been a cosmetic consultant for a major brand working at an Auckland Airport Duty Free store.

I've promoted and sold Trade Not Aid products and even pounded the city streets collecting signatures for a WWF petition proudly wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with a logo from the The Body Shop!

I've sold and used literally hundreds of products, from skin care and cosmetics to bath and body products to aromatherapy and baby care to haircare and French perfume. Oh and watches, cameras and jewelry too!

And I've helped hundreds of different people to choose hundreds of different gifts!

I've made some amazing baskets using all sorts of unusual containers. I've worked with boxes, bags, buckets, back packs, platters, picnic hampers, trays, tote bags and more.

I've designed and created unique gift baskets for New Babies, New Moms, Children, Easter, Christmas, Birthdays, Chefs, Valentine's Day, Get Well Wishes, Sympathy, Corporate Business, and a whole LOT more too.

Dressed teddy bears

A few years ago I even had a small business making teddy bears clothes, but not just any old clothes.

As you can from this picture every bear had a theme. There was Ballerina Ted, Red Indian Ted, Sleepy Time Ted, Scuba Diving Ted and even an All Black Ted, especially made for one team members young son!

And another one of my passions........

aquarium-cake is cooking, I really enjoy experimenting with new recipes.

Creating cool birthday cakes for my son and the rest of my family is one of my favorite past times too.

We've had all kinds of AMAZING and wonderful fun cakes over the years.

There has been a shark, a penguin, a sombrero, a rainbow fish, a kiwi, a pool table, a duck, a cactus, a pair of flip flops, an aquarium and even an axolotl!

If you have any comments, questions, suggestions, or just want to say hi use the contact form and drop me a line. I'd love to hear from you!

Happy gift basket making!

Jackie

What's For Dinner?

Need unusual birthday present ideas?

"Thanks so much, you’ve ended my search for unusual birthday presents! I LOVE your idea of linking family and friends birthdays to famous people’s birthdays that they share. It’s such a simple idea, that I know everyone will enjoy, yet I never thought of doing it.

Especially how easy, and what fun, it could be to make a PERSONALIZED THEMED GIFT BASKET to showcase the link. Finding out which famous person or showbiz personality my family and friends share their birthday with will be HEAPS OF FUN for me too. I’ve only just started looking, but I’m already inspired at how I can make some very unusual birthday presents indeed!

It must be fate, because I’ve been wracking my brain trying to think of a REALLY REALLY UNUSUAL 50th birthday present idea for my dad’s birthday, and that’s one of the things you describe as incredibly hard too.

Now, I won’t have to search for unusual birthday presents for him or anyone else I know. I’ll just find out WHICH FAMOUS PERSON they share their birthday with, and surprise them with their own personalized themed gift basket. I can even see myself becoming famous, as the queen of the unusual birthday present!

Thanks again!"
