• Cellophane in a roll, or bags can work well too. Choose from transparent, colored or a theme print.

• Wrapping paper in plain colors such as black or white and silver or gold.

• Tissue paper in as many colors as you like, and or white which works for just about everything.

• Interfacing fabric, the non iron-in variety. Choose a thickness that's not so stiff that it won't fold, but not so soft that it tears easily. Try white, black or any other color that matches with your gift basket themes.

• Scissors make sure you buy good quality, they need to be nice and sharp for cutting ribbons.

• Wire cutters if using wire edged ribbon. Or buy two pairs of scissors and keep one for this job alone.

• Clear tape and grab a tape dispenser to make the job easier.

• Ribbon in various widths and colors, textures and prints.

• Curly ribbon in colors to match your ribbons and tissue papers.

• Raffia and twine.

• Pre-made bows if you prefer.

• A bow making machine if you prefer!

• Artificial flowers or any other decorations you think might add interest to your overall look.

• Fillers such as shredded paper, excelsior (shredded natural wood) straw and unprinted plain newsprint for use with any larger type of containers such as hampers, baskets and totes.

• Gift basket containers such as bags, baskets, boxes, trays, toy trucks, colanders, buckets, gardening pots or even watering cans!

• Cards

• Presents!

Try to keep your supplies organized together if you can, that way you’ll be able to see at a glance what you need when you come to make your next basket. You can buy some excellent inexpensive containers for this purpose.
