Chocolate Truffle Recipe
Rum Ball Recipe

Although not the traditional recipe, this simple chocolate truffle recipe is so easy to make and produces delightful little melt in the mouth taste extravaganzas!

Chocolate Truffles
1 cup finely crushed vanilla wafers or plain cookies
3 1/2 ounces (100 g) butter
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup icing (confectioners) sugar
1/2 cup coconut
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup chopped sultanas
2 tablespoons orange juice

  1. Soften the butter, but don’t melt and stir all the ingredients together.

  2. Put the mixture in the fridge until it’s firm enough for you to work with.

  3. Roll small balls of mixture using damp hands.

  4. Roll in extra coconut and refrigerate.

Keep your truffles in the refrigerator or you can freeze them for up to two months.

Yum Yum Rum Balls

Rum balls are deliciously rich and full of flavor and a bit like the grown up version of truffles!

The addition of the rum imparts a certain flavor that makes these little balls the perfect treat to accompany an after dinner coffee, so make sure you add a wee bag of them to your next gourmet coffee gift basket

Try this delightful chocolate rum balls recipe and see for yourself.

Rum Ball Recipe
1/4 cup (50g) chopped raisins
1/4 cup (60ml) dark rum
3/4 cup (65g) desiccated coconut
2 cups (about 300g) chocolate cake crumbs
1/4 cup (60ml) sweetened condensed milk
Chocolate sprinkles, to coat

  1. Combine the raisins and 1 tablespoon of the rum in a small saucepan over low heat. Bring to a simmer. Remove from heat and set aside for 5 minutes.

  2. Put all the rest of the ingredients except the chocolate sprinkles together in bowl and add in the raisin mixture.

  3. Stir until well combined.

  4. Roll tablespoons full of mixture into balls and then roll the balls in the chocolate sprinkles.

Store the rum balls in an airtight container in the fridge.
