Cool Craft Basket

This is a super gift basket idea for both young and slightly older teenage girls, as you can easily vary what gift items you put in their gift basket depending on their individual interests.

My teenage niece is very arty and loves to design and create her own greeting cards. So this year for her birthday I made her a craft basket containing all the things I thought she might need (and a few other goodies to spice it up a bit too!)

First of all I found a fantastic craft bag to use as my container, it was purple (which was perfect as that just happens to be her favorite color) and it also had loads of pockets in different sizes all around the outside of the bag.

First I stuffed the bottom of the bag with a few sheets of scrunched up tissue paper and then inside the bag I put in a couple of packs of colored and plain pre-cut cards and a couple of packs of matching envelopes.

I found an excellent selection of very cool embellishments to use with cards, so I added a few packs of those too.

I also included a pair of good quality scissors, a bottle of glue, some small containers of glitter and a pack of colored marking pens including gold and silver.

The extra goodies were a body wash, body lotion and hand cream all in a sugarplum fragrance which just happened to be purple, a nail polish and a bag of chocolate toffees. I tucked all of these gifts into the outside pockets of the bag.

I wrapped the whole lot in cellophane and added lots of bright purple ribbons and bows.

It was such an incredibly big hit, that I think I'll be making another one for her birthday next year :)
