Cranberry Jelly Recipe

cranberry-jelly-recipe

This super simple but superbly scrumptious cranberry jelly recipe is actually more like a Thanksgiving cranberry sauce recipe but it's still AWESOMELY DELICIOUS!

And what's even more, cranberries are widely recognized as being one of natures super foods.

Packed full of beneficial anti-oxidants and Vitamin C, not only do they taste great, they’re fabulously healthy for you too.

If you are able buy your cranberries in bulk when they are in season (which is between September and December) you can quite SAFELY FREEZE them.

That way you will ALWAYS have some berries on hand when it comes to Thanksgiving, or any other time you want to make this delicious sauce.

Simply place the cranberries (without pre-washing) into a plastic bag and pop in the freezer. Frozen cranberries will last up to a year!

#Tip-You can use fresh or frozen cranberries for this recipe but do try to avoid using dried, it won't taste anywhere near as good!

Cranberry Jelly
3 cups cranberries
1 cup of port
1 cup sugar
zest and juice of an orange

  1. Add all the ingredients to a pan and cook together over a medium heat for about 40 minutes or until almost all of the liquid has evaporated.

  2. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.

This recipe will make 2-3 cups.

You can use this yummy jelly straight away, or if you prefer place it in an airtight container and store in the fridge. The jelly will last for a couple of months.

Put your homemade sauce into jars and use as the perfect addition to a Thanksgiving gift basket or give as a simple but divine standalone present.

Use plain jars with fancy lids or make your own designer labels to match the Thanksgiving theme.

When you decorate your jars, make sure to take advantage of the amazingly beautiful RICH AUTUMN COLORS of reds, yellows and oranges that are so synonymous with this wonderful holiday time of year!

This easy cranberry jelly recipe will make a FABULOUSLY DELICIOUS GIFT for someone who's mad for cranberry sauce with turkey!
