Many of us are partial to a little something sweet to go with our coffee, try the following recipes for a couple of treats that taste DIVINE and have the added bonus of being simple to make! Chocolate Coated Coffee Beans 1/3 cup roasted coffee beans 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- Melt the chocolate in a double boiler until liquid and smooth. Drop in a handful of beans, and stir them around.
- Using a fork, scoop the beans out one by one (yes it's time consuming but well worth the effort!) and set them out on waxed paper. Keep them separate.
- Continue until all the beans are covered.
- Leave them overnight to harden so they don't stick together!
If you've never eaten a chocolate coated coffee bean you're in for a real taste extravaganza! Coffee Fudge Recipe 1/2 pint full cream milk 1/2 cup caster/superfine sugar 1/2 cup butter 3 tablespoons strong black coffee - Put the milk and sugar into a saucepan and bring to the boil.
- Add the butter.
- Stir continuously over a low heat, allowing all butter and sugar to melt and slowly bring to the boil.
- Allow to boil gently for about 15 minutes, stirring several times.
- Drop a little of the fudge into a saucer of cold water, when it forms a soft ball, it's ready.
- Add the coffee.
- Leave it to cool for a few minutes then use a wooden spoon and beat until the fudge becomes thick and creamy.
- Pour into a greased tin.
- Mark into squares.
Both these yummy treats would be perfect to add to your gift baskets or pop them into a fancy jar or a cellophane bag tied with a length of curly ribbon and give as a decadent standalone present. Gourmet coffee gift baskets make excellent
