How to Wrap a Gift

Would you like to know how to wrap a gift so it looks professional? Do you love celebrations but dread the thought of all that wrapping?

Need some easy gift wrapping tips?

Presentation is SO IMPORTANT, whether it's a cute baby shower gift wrap idea, or wrapped Christmas presents for your work colleagues. how to wrap a gift

Think of it like sewing an amazing dress and then not bothering to iron it before you wore it out, or cooking a beautiful meal and then just throwing it on the plate any old how.

Once you know how to wrap your presents correctly it becomes an enormous amount of fun instead of that chore you hate!

INSTRUCTIONS

Follow easy step-by-step instructions and learn how to wrap a gift right the first time!

  1. Lay the paper out on a flat surface and place your present on top about two inches below the edge of the paper.

  2. Measure the paper across one way so it comes to the edge of the present and then across the opposite way to approximately the middle, and cut.

  3. You should have about two inches of paper at each end, adjust and cut off any excess paper if you need to. If you can, turn your gift upside down so the front will be facing up when you’ve finished your wrapping. (Obviously this isn’t always possible, use your own judgment here!)

  4. Fold one edge of the paper over about an inch giving you a nice neat finish. Bring the other piece of paper across the present and then place the piece with folded edge on top and tape in place. Try to have the fold as close to the middle of the present as you can.

  5. Turn around sideways and check there is the same amount of paper at each end. Using your fingers fold each side of the paper towards the center so that it forms a triangle shape. Fold the very edge of the triangle over at the top and then tape in place. Do the same for the other side.

  6. Turn the box over and decorate with some color co-ordinated decorations such as a gorgeous bow and some beautiful ribbons.

Done!

Once you’ve practiced a few times, you’ll develop a better eye for judging how much paper you will need to wrap your gift and of course your speed will increase as well.

Check out this video which will show you how QUICK and SIMPLE it is to wrap a gift in paper. I still prefer to fold the edges of my paper over, but maybe that's because I'm a bit of a neat freak!

You can also purchase a huge range of wrapping paper in as many styles and colors as you can imagine. Whether you are looking for Christmas wrapping paper, something earthy and natural such as plain brown wrapping paper, or a gorgeous baby shower gift wrap there are plenty of choices available.
