What is it about Valentines movies that we love so much?
Although the overall genre is romantic the films can be many different styles, such as comedy, drama, musical, or even fantasy.
The list of top romantic movies in any year could include a brand new release, a timeless old classic, or even a picture with subtitles.
I believe that for most of us, it is the FEELINGS and EMOTIONS these films arouse in us (even though not all of us will be keen to admit to that!) that definitely make the best romantic movies of all.
There's probably not many of us who haven't cried RIVERS of TEARS over such brilliant examples as "The Notebook", "Titanic", or "Ghost" or experienced PURE JOY and ELATION at such classics as "When Harry Met Sally", "An Officer and a Gentleman", or "Sleepless in Seattle".
The most successful
Valentines
movies have a way of taking us on an INCREDIBLE JOURNEY where we are able to connect with the characters and lose ourselves in the story to the extent that sometimes the experience is SO POWERFUL and REAL that we just never want it to end.
Obviously the reason that many of us might choose to watch these wonderful films OVER and OVER and OVER again!
The best romantic
movies
have also given us some of the MOST MEMORABLE and amazing soundtracks and theme songs around. In 1998 Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On", the theme song from Titanic, was the best selling single in the whole wide world!
Many a bride has credited the INSPIRATION for her wonderfully romantic wedding day, from the characters in her favorite Valentines movies.
Delightfully fabulous romantic films such as "Sweet Home Alabama", "The Notebook", "The Princess Bride", "The Wedding Singer", "Mamma Mia", even "The Corpse Bride" give us endless possibilities to create the kind of wedding day no-one will ever forget!
For one reason or another each of us will have our own list of romantic Valentines Day movies, these are just a few of my favorites :)
